Business Leases and Other Real Estate Matters for Corporate Counsel

Association of Corporate Counsel, Westchester/Southern Connecticut Chapter
11.30.16

Business leases are so commonplace that they are often thought to be harmless. But vampires are lurking in dark corners - disguised in boilerplate, poised to pounce on the jugular of unsuspecting tenants! Leases - even printed forms - are not standard, even within a single state or city. Leases can be minefields and are to be navigated with extreme caution.

This program includes a discussion of significant issues the business tenant will encounter when negotiating an office, factory or warehouse lease- as well as SNDAs the tenant may be requested to sign with the landlord's lender. The program also includes the basics of real estate finance, title insurance and other real estate related matters geared toward the corporate counsel.

Speakers:

  • Steven Coury | Partner, White and Williams LLP
  • Frances Zujkowski | Counsel, White and Williams LLP
  • Cozata Solloway | Senior Counsel, Louis Dreyfus Company (Moderator)
