Real and Present Danger: Legal Issues and the Wound Care Provider
The tort system is a very real part of today’s wound care practice. It isn’t enough to simply practice good quality medicine, according to accepted best practices and standards of care. The reality is, in spite of high quality and appropriate care, the outcome is sometimes less than favorable, and the realities and emotions lead to a lawsuit.
Ed Beitz and Laura Hutchinson will focus their session on the measures providers can take, to not only provide optimal care to their patients, but to document and communicate that care in such a fashion that they are able to successfully defend themselves and their care should they find themselves in a position of defense.
The all new Symposium on Advanced Wound Care Spring | Wound Healing Society meeting will feature exciting new cutting-edge topics led by the most dynamic and influential educators in wound healing to further move the wound care community forward, and create a dynamic and unified voice to support our shared mission – improving patient care.
