Copyright law is a dynamic and constantly evolving area of law. Recently, new advances in technology have helped mold our understanding of even long standing copyright traditions. This program, led by Randy Friedberg, Partner in the Intellectual Property Group, covers many issues pertaining to copyright law in the United States.

The lecture walks through the basic tenets of copyright law, such as how to obtain protection in original works, what rights are derived from copyright protection, and works made for hire. The course also addresses copyright infringement issues and more advanced topics, such as the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the evolving doctrine of fair use.
